Is expected that the IPAD will change the world of computers just like the Iphone changed the way the cellular phones and industry operate. Apple is a leading computer maker along with Sony and HP that manufacture other touch screen computers.
We all know Google as a search engine, in the last couple months Google has developed a phone DROID and the Android operating system. Rumor is that Google will soon have it’s own verion of the IPAD. Competition from Nokia and other manufactures could come in the future. Says Andre Leite Alves from Aware Bear Computer Repair in Pittsford NY.
Feeling the competition software makers such as Microsoft and Adobe are looking into releasing their own versions of the IPAD. Sony and HP already have touch screen computers in the market such as tablets however nothing that can be compared to the new IPAD. “says Arthur Leite from Aware Bear Pittsford New York.”

In my own personal opinion the market tendency for the next couple years would be for computers to become hybrid just like the Iphone was the base for newer phones such as DROID, PALM and some Black Berrys. That could be associated to market pressure In part, these companies are acting in response to pressure exerted by IPAD, which hit the market in April 3. But their decisions to develop hybrid products also demonstrate its desire to expand its core activities and to experiment with varied types of business models and technologies.
The general consumer would benefit from this technology shift since prices would drop due to healthy competition and more choices would be avaliable. Technology is usually expensive at first, says Mike James from Aware Bear Computers Pittsford New York, look at the price of the 1st computer in the late 70s. Paying $3500 for a PC was normal. Computers back then were very slow and primitive. Just imagine if the IPAD drops down in price and ended up costing $400-$500.
‘We are living a moment of high excitement, now, “said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, chief executive of Nokia. “It’s a great challenge in that sector are set, because everything is changing.”
Microsoft has always been the biggest defender of the tablets, which allow users to write on the screen with a stylus, just as they would on paper. And in recent years, major PC makers, like Dell and HP, used Microsoft software to produce this type of device. But they were all similar models, and with limitations on what they had to offer to users. Microsoft Windows, never seemed flexible enough to fit a wider variety of mobile devices, being vulnerable to viruses and other bugs.
With a lot more choices OS X, Linux and Windows there’s a lot more software and hardware devices available to produce low cost, good capability and portable, known as tablets or slates, thinner, lighter and typically devoid of physical keyboards.
Blacberry, Apple, Google and Nokia have their own software platforms for them, and Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Broadcom and Marvell are in the running to supply chips for this new wave of products. tags: rochester, ny, aware, bear, computers, repair, service, computer, 5 Monroe Avenue Pittsford NY, (585) 473-7035 apple, broadcom, intel, ipad, marvell, microsoft, nokia, nvidia, qualcomm, tablets, Andre Leite Alves, Arthur Leite. Meanwhile, Microsoft is considering producing a tablet itself, to try to present a cohesive package such as those offered by Apple and other competitors.
Apple said it sold more than 450 billion iPads in the early days of the new retail product. Consumers are attracted by the prestige of the brand and how the new approach to computing that IPAD offers, with the emphasis on the touch screen and entertainment, compared to the keyboard and productivity.
But commentators and consumers have also been stressing that the lack IPAD – a camera, for example, and the capability to display much of the entertainment content of the web, such as videos in Flash format.

IPAD also been criticized for its inability to allow for multiple tasks simultaneously, but the company announced on Friday that the unit will acquire this capability by the end of the year. Another downside is that the IPAD it depends on a cellular chip, less powerful than a computer chip.
The HP version of ipad should go out halfway through the year. Has camera and ports for additional devices like a mouse. It will also allow “access to the entire Internet,” as emphasized by the company on an ad, which includes videos and other entertainment.
Phil McKinney, vice president of technology at the personal systems division of HP, said in a recent interview that the company has been working on your tablet for five years. The product launch was postponed, he said, until its price could be lower.
The marketing department of the group has released videos on the device on the Internet. This type of marketing prospective new to HP, who rarely talks about unreleased products. McKinney contends, however, that the company does not feel pressured by the fact that Apple is already on the market, which will release its tablet when you’re ready.
“I already have one on my desk,” said McKinney. “We do not react or respond to competition schedules and the like.” Acer, Lenovo and Dell have tablets in preparation, also.

Google, for example, has been working with several hardware manufacturers to spread its Android software, originally created for mobile phones and direct competitor of Apple iPhone’s operating system. The company also hopes to create a market for their own applications for the new tablets.
But Google is taking the idea a step further and explores the possibility of manufacturing a tablet, an electronic reader that would work as a computer.
Eric Schmidt, chief executive, told friends in recent party in Los Angeles that the company is developing a new device, powered exclusively by the operating system Android.
People who know directly the project but asked that their names not be cited because they have no authorization to speak publicly about it said that the company has been conducting experiments “in stealth mode”, along with some publishing groups in order to study distribution systems for books, magazines and other forms of content on a tablet.
HP also is developing a tablet that would work with Android, he was dubbed “half-liter” because the six-inch screen would be smaller than the IPAD.
Microsoft has generated rumors in blogs, like Apple tends to do, to let out videos of a prototype of its tablet, the Courier. According to a company official who has seen it, he has size of a pocket book, and when opened, shows two screens. Users could annotate it with a pen and easily transfer content between screens.

But Microsoft engineers have concerns about the battery life needed to keep both screens in operation, these people say. And there is infighting in the company as to the identification of the correct market. Initially the idea was to market the Courier for designers and architects, but recently the company began to think in broader market of consumers, and therefore may include electronic books and magazines and other forms of media content in the model.
Microsoft engineers are talking about launching the Courier in early 2011, but the decision to build it has yet been taken. At Nokia, meanwhile, a team of engineers, designers and editors working on an electronic reader, hoping to give the company a dominant position in the market for digital books and applications.

Kallasvuo declined to comment specifically on the model but said the little laptop which the company launched last year was well received, and she continues to study new types of apparatus “converged”.
“Consumers obviously have much more choice when it comes to where and what to connect,” said Kallasvuo. He argued that Nokia has more range due to its extensive network of international sales channels to distribute content, and more experience in dealing with local content in countries like India and China are compared, for example, Apple or Google .
