The new HP HDX 18t series from HP Tested and Approved by Aware Bear Computers Home Theaters Rochester NY (New York)

Aware Bear computers and computer repair approves the new HP HDX 18t series for many reasons. One, HP usually sells high quality products and this computer is no different. Two AwareBear computer technicians had a great time going over this machine due to its high quality sound system (usually not so great for laptops) its ultra bright display that can be offered at 1980p but also the capability of having a built in TV turner, Blu-ray player and advanced graphics.

For someone who is looking for a portable ‘home theater system’ it doesn’t get any better than this” commented Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear Computers in Rochester NY (New York). Andre Leite Alves and Mike James  also mentions that this computer is a beginning of a new generation of laptops for this next coming decade. “Laptops will be much different than we are used to seeing them, they are becoming just that a portable entertainment station and not just a tool for work anymore.” Mentioned Arthur Leite of Aware Bear home theaters and computer department in Rochester NY NY. AwareBear technicians had also the opportunity to demonstrate to its clients the power of this new laptop and get some feedback. “I like it, and its funny how the price came down over the years” mentions Robert S. a client of Aware Bear Computers of Rochester.

This is all possible with the Windows Vista Home premium witch comes with Windows Aero, Windows Media Center and the instant search means that the user is able to locate files with ease. “Also do not forget that we are offering this laptop with an upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out for FREE! Complements of HP and Microsoft” says Mike A. general manager of Aware Bear Computers and AwareBear Home Theater department in Rochester, NY (New York). And speaking of entertainment, AwareBear added that the titanium design, a full-size, color matched keyboard with a numeric pad! 1080p dual-back-light display powered by Intel’s Centrino2 processor technology, and combined with Nvidia fast performance first-rate graphics, this 18.1 inch mega laptop seems to be very promising for many people.

Aware Bear technician Matt P. also mentioned that it comes with an ultra wide 16:9  display giving you a better viewing than other standard issued LCD, a Full HD (High Definition) display and a 5400 speed dual hard drive allowing information to be loaded much faster. “HP really did it this time with this laptop” mentions Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear Computers sales and computer repair facility in Rochester, NY (New York). Aware Bear’s computer repair department in Rochester, NY also mentioned that the fact that HP is using high quality components for this laptop, it should be a good buy, meaning its probably going to last for a while before any repairs are done. Obviously AwareBear computer repair department is not mentioning anything about viruses or if you decide to drop or spill something on this laptop of course.

Another great feature about this laptop that AwareBear computers mention is the simplified password management with an integrated fingerprint reader. “Finger print idea is awesome, there is no way someone will be able to ‘guess your fingerprint’ like you can guess someone’s password. At Aware Bear we have been using fingerprint technology for a while and it works great. At the Aware Bear Home Theater department in Rochester, NY clients are already installing finger print technology not only in their offices, but in their homes as well” mentions Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear Computer repair and home theaters of Rochester, NY (New York)

Aware Bear technician Matt P. also mentioned this new built-in ProtectSmart Hard Drive technology. “What it does, it detects if your notebook is being dropped and locks up your hard drive meaning, it stops from spinning and that helps you protect your data, isn’t that just crazy!” says Matt P. of Aware Bear computer repair department. “At AwareBear’s computer repair facility, we get many jobs of data recovering from failing media as a result of someone dropping their computer as they were working on it, this technology is good because it will help a lot of people.” Mentions Mike James of Aware Bear Computer repair and Aware Bear’s Home Theater Installations, department in Rochester, NY (New York).

Aware Bear Computers also learned from HP that this model comes with a quick access to files via the high-speed eSATA combo port, which also serves as an additional USB 2.0 port. “That’s something that you don’t see everyday on laptops now huh” mentions Arthur Leite of Aware Bear Computer Repair, AwareBear Computer Services, awarebear’s home theater systems department located in Rochester, NY (New York)

AwareBear Computers talks about Power Surges Rochester New York.

Many people believe that a simple power strip is able to protect them from a power surge. The problem is that even though most are equipped with a fuse for fire hazard purposes, a simple power strip is not enough to keep your computer safe. “If you choose not to buy a regular power surge protector, and you are someone depending solely on a power strip, I highly recommend a good insurance policy in case your computer or other home electronics suffer from a power surge” says Andre Leite Alves, owner of Aware Bear Computer Repair and Services in Rochester NY. AwareBear Computers is a Rochester based company that deals with repairs of PCs, Macs, Laptops, HDTVs and other home theater equipment, and technicians are very familiar with power surge problems that occur from time to time. “We even had an entire auto dealership that was not protected and suffered damages related to power surge” says Mike one of Aware Bear’s on-site technician. Mike said they were lucky to have an online back-up solution since many of the hard drives failed as well as a good insurance company. The problem is that even though the computer’s power supply is good enough to handle every day power spikes and oscillations, a nearby lightening could really cause lots of damage to all electronic components in your house.

How do I protect myself from power surges?

The best way is to purchase a good power surge protector. Remember that this is something that you definitely want to go cheap on. A good power surge protector we usually recommend to our clients is the APC protector with a battery pack. Not only will it protect your computer, if the power does go out it even has a back up battery that will allow you to finish up your work save it so you don’t lose any important files.

Andre Leite Alves knows the importance of power surge protectors and makes sure that all electronic components in all of Aware Bear repair facilities are up to date in power surge protectors. “The fact is that not only we want to protect our equipment, however most importantly, we want to make sure our clientele is protected as well. These power surges do not occur often, but eliminating any risk of problems is what we are all about. Since we are always working on about 10-15 computers in each of our facilities, we cannot afford to take any chances.” Says Arthur Leite, head of AwareBear creative department.

Bottom line, if you are going to spend money buying a computer, you might as well spend an extra $100 just to have a bit of a piece of mind just in case anything were to happen. Once a computer goes, if you do not back-up your files and you have couple thousand dollars worth of work, not only your computer will be damaged by the power surge but you could probably lose all your files as well.

Aware Bear computers also asks you to contact your insurance company and see what they cover in case of a power surge. Some insurances will not cover data recovery, and some data recovery can cost up to $2,000 per Hard Drive.

The HP TouchSmart IQ526 tested and approved by Aware Bear.

Aware Bear Computers of Rochester, NY an HP service provider
has tested the HP IQ 526 and reported its findings. “I think it is a phenomenal idea that HP is
investing in this new technology, sure in 10-20 years we will look back and
laugh at it just like anything else saying, ‘wow remember when that computer
first came out how cool it was back then.’” Says Arthur Leite of AwareBear. So
a new computer era begins. “It is a great idea and eventually it will get
refined, but it has its pros and cons.” Added Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear
Computers Rochester NY branch.

This version of the TouchSmart IQ series is a bit smaller
and more refined version than the previous. Aware Bear computer technicians believe
this is a great improvement since it will provide a smaller more compact unit
that is going to be suitable as a desktop rather than just a “media center”.

At Aware Bear’s store location, when they sell HP computers,
we noticed a trend that many people these days want to consolidate everything
they got into one unit. “Some customers asks us about all sorts of things such
as “can my new computer control my salt water fish tank, and the answer is
yes.” –Says Andre Leite Alves of Rochester’s
AwareBear Computers. Andre Leite Alves also added that some customers that come
into the Aware Bear Rochester store are simply looking for a media machine more
than anything that can also be used for the occasional ‘checking the email and
going online’ in that case the HP TouchSmart IQ526 might be the right computer
for them.

The IQ526 is a more popular buy today since it is more
affordable since it has a smaller screen than the previous IQ800 versions but
there are also a few drawbacks as well.

HP reported to Aware Bear that the new IQ526 has a lower
resolution on its 22-inch touch screen panel at a resolution of 1680 by 1050
and unfortunately it falls short of the HD category of 1080p. However most
people are fine with that. “Ultimately this resolution issue is only a problem
for the customers who are looking for this to have a TV built in digital tuner”
Says Matt P. of Aware Bear Home Theater department.

Another small drawback that Aware Bear Computers located
into the unit was the fact that because of its more compact size, the HP media
bay was also removed. “For some people if they have other HPs with media bays
on them might be a bigger drawback, however realistically nothing that a USB
external hard drive can’t fix” explains Andre Leite Alves of awarebear computers.

The resolution from previous models is lower, however Aware
Bear t
ells us that the performance was optimized from previous models and that
is always a plus. The unit now has an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 giving a nice
boost over the T5850. Unfortunately it is still low ever than the processor
found in the iMac, but it does an excellent job while performing most tasks.
Another selling point is that it comes with 4 gigs of memory standard with the
system assisting the processor in performing these tasks.

The touch-screen interface:

The main difference that sets this HP apart than any other
is the fact that it has a touch screen interface. Fortunately the software used
by HP in order to provide the touch screen capability has been improved
dramatically over the years giving the user a more smooth and functional
experience than ever before. “It is a great improvement than the previous
versions that we had experienced with” says Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear
Computers”. “Here at Aware Bear, we are constantly testing and seeing new
technology, since we have to know how to operate everything in case someone has
a problem, but I think that this new line of TouchSmart technology is really
great!” Added Mike A. Aware Bear Computers regional manager.

http://andreleitealves.com

http://awarebear.com

http://aacomputersusa.com

The Main Drawback:

After research conducted by Aware Bear, we came to the
conclusion that the main drawback about the system is the fact that you should
wash your hands before using it. The screen may get dirty with finger prints
here and there “but that’s common with everything, for example every morning
when I open my refrigerator, it is stainless brush steel, I get finger prints
on it too specially if I am eating a sandwich or something” Added Arthur Leite
of Aware Bear Computers in Rochester, NY (New York)

Overall, Aware Bear agrees that the IQ526 is a good choice
for someone who wants an all-in-one desktop, that wants to save space, who is
not afraid of using new technology and would like a great media centre without
taking too much space and money out of their wallet. This product can be
purchased directly from HP, large store chains as well as from Aware Bear store
located in Rochester NY
(New York)

Wedding Photographer Rochester NY Aware Bear Wedding Photography

Every bride and groom that walks into my office expects the same thing: A great wedding! Sometimes the wedding preparation could take from months to years. The ceremony, the reception, honeymoon and the photography have to be perfect!

Unfortunately for most of us we do not get to see our  family as often as we wish. In events such as weddings when everyone gets together is very important to have a good photographer covering these events.

Pictures are going to be in photo albums that will be shared with friends and family members, photo frames around the house and they will keep the wedding memories for many years to come.

Many photographers hire sub contractors and work with different crews causing inconsistency when it comes to the final photos. Every photographer has his or her own style and that photographer might not be the one covering your wedding.

Since I do not have a crew of photographers what you see in my portfolio is what you get. Doesn’t get any simpler than that.

Aware Bear Computers 5 Monroe Ave Pittsford NY 14534 585.473.7035

AwareBear Computers Rochester NY New York EDC or electrostatic discharge Aware Bear Pittsford NY New York

EDC or electrostatic discharge is a scientific term for static electricity. Getting shocked by your refrigerator may hurt you little however the same type of shock may put your electronic device out of commission. Aware Bear Computers of Rochester, NY (New York) will give you tips on how to avoid ECD on your computer and other electronic components.

With over 15 years of experience, Andre Leite Alves, a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCP) and owner of AwareBear Computers of Rochester, NY (New York) has conducted a research along with other Aware Bear technicians in order to educate Aware Bear’s workers and clientele on how to prolong the life of their computer components. “At Aware Bear, we are constantly working in order to better our company as well as the lives of others that experience problems with computers, home theaters, and other electronic components.” – Says Mike A. general manager of Aware Bear in the Rochester, NY http://awarebear.com/awarebear area. Mike also added that in this research conducted by Aware Bear Computer department shows that a major portion of motherboard failure comes from ECD and that ECD can be controlled.

Tip number one: Climate Inside your Home or Office

“With computers, some humidity is actually a good thing” says Arthur Leite, Aware Bear Computers researcher and technician. Electro-static affects greatly increases as humidity decreases. “At the Aware Bear locations, we have to make sure not only that our rooms are in the right temperature to work on computers, but also we always have to keep our eyes on the humidity, sometimes I feel like I work at a salt water fish tank hehe” Says Michael W. sales rep. of Aware Bear in Pittsford.

Here are some ways that Aware Bear Computers’ computer department recommends in preventing ECD on your electronics components simply by adjusting the climate in your home or office: http://awarebear.com/aware, http://awarebear.com/aware/bear/, http://awarebear.com/aware/bear/computers

Step 1: Open a window. “Just by opening one window is already enough to balance the environment.” Says Matt P. Aware Bear on-site technician. He also added that much like osmosis, homes usually have more electric charge specially here in the North East, due to dry air from the furnace and from the A/C. By leaving a window open, you can balance the environment of your home or office.

At Aware Bear Computer’s Pittsford location, “the door is always open” and the building has an open concept to it. “Walls were taken out and space was open, this way we can allow the natural flow of air coming in and out of the building, resulting in a better environment to prevent ECD from occurring on all the equipment.” Added Andre Leite Alves of AwareBear. “Everything from the location and distribution of air from the furnace to the entrance and where the air exits have all been planed to work in harmony at Aware Bear.” Added Andre Leite Alves. “Of course, at your home you don’t have to go all that crazy, but just open a window or two and that should not only freshen up your home, but also reduce static electricity as well” Added Mike A.

Step 2: Add a humidifier on big buildings

Aware Bear onsite computer services is not only responsible for helping people’s computer issues at their homes, but medium to large companies as well. “Server rooms are definitely a place you want to make sure that there is a controlled environment inside. However usually these server rooms are located in a secure area of the building with little natural ventilation.” explains Matt P. Aware Bear’s on-site technician. “In those types of scenario, we ask companies to invest in a humidifier in those rooms just to maintain the climate balanced.” Added Aware Bear’s Arthur Leite. However not all server rooms without natural ventilation is in danger, sometimes, couple server rooms may have too much humidity and that can cause other problems as well. “ One that we noticed that was boarder line too much humidity was at the Rochester Raging Rhinos stadium at Paetec Park. The raw concrete wall of their server room actually brings in moisture from the ground as well as from the air. However tests were conducted and the amount of water particles in the air was beneficial and no dust were found inside server components.” Explained Andre Leite Alves.

Step 3. Clean up!

Aware Bear is crazy about cleaning! “We do not want anything do with dust, as a matter of fact if we see a computer that comes in and it’s dusty, we will open it up and clean it.” –says Michael W. Aware Bear sales rep. Aware Bear does that for two reasons. One to help prolong the life of the customer’s computers and two, to keep our repair facilities clean and dust free. “We have to educate our clients in maintaining their computers clean on the inside, and the best step is to make sure the environment they live in is clean on the outside.” Says Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear computer department. AwareBear also stresses for people not to smoke near their computers “because it will kill your computer faster than it will kill you”.

Step 4: Your body may be the worst enemy

Did you know that the average person can carry up to 25,000 volts of static energy? Sounds like a lot huh, but since the current level of energy is so low usually people don’t notice it. Make sure that if you are going to open your computer or another component near long haired pets, long carpets, near dryers, and anything that would cause you to get a shock from touching something make from metal. Aware Bear Computers of Rochester, NY (New York) technicians need to be static free all the time while working with computer components and would like to thank all of those who read this article and hope it helps you prolong the life of your electronic components.

Aware Bear Computers | Rochester NY | Andre Leite Alves

Andre Leite Alves of Aware Bear. With over 15 years of experience in
computer repair services, Andre Alves performs motherboard tattoos
often specially when dealing with HP computers. “HP is really good at
giving us the support for tattooing their motherboards when dealing
with their warranty service” added Arthur Leite of Aware Bear
Computers. “Not only they give us full support, but excellent training
as well, it’s one of the benefits of being HP certified.” Aware Bear
Computers added that the reason for this distinctive code on the bios
is to ensure that all the diagnostics and System Restore disks will
work with the specific models of computers that are sold.

“What people don’t realize, is that even though the PC or a
laptop may be the same model, it can contain different factory parts in
it depending on when the specific model was assembled.” Andre Leite
Alves stated. “If that is the case, than the recovery CDs and the
diagnostic tools will not work properly since the drivers might be
different”. Aware Bear Computer technician Mike James also added that
the tattoo process insures that the recovery and diagnostics CD cannot
be used illegally used with other computers than the ones that they are
intended to use. “At AwareBear, we have to constantly keep up to date
and have all the tools possible for all the repair work needed on all
computers. “In terms of diagnostic tools, there are universal
diagnostics tools out in the market that works wonders.” says Andre
Alves of AwareBear.
In deep detail Aware Bear Computers explains that a tattoo
consists of an erasable read-only memory (EPROM) programmable chip that
holds information about the computer such as the operating system, the
serial number. Each machine has its own unique code and once a mother
board is replaced, this chip must be reprogrammed. “Have you heard of
people who buy new motherboards for PCs such as Sony Vaios, everything
works fine but then they cannot use their software?” says Arthur Leite
of Aware Bear Computers “The reason being is that the motherboard was
not tattooed and there is a conflict going on with the new motherboard
and the operating system.
Aware Bear Computer technicians stress the importance of
tattooing all new motherboards that are placed in new computers, or
ask. “At Dell, the motherboards for our warranty service projects
already come tattooed, that’s the reason why they have the express
code” added Andre Leite Alves Aware Bear Computers. If the motherboard
or any components in the motherboard are replaced, than it is crucial
that the EPROM chip is reprogrammed. The good news is that technical
support is mostly always available by your computer vendor, warranty
service provider, or the technician who perform modifications and
repairs when it comes to tattooing. “One of the main reasons why Aware
Bear Computers has partnerships with all major companies is the level
of support we receive.” Sure it costs some money but it makes Aware
Bear Computers one step ahead.” So when contacting your computer
company, make sure they are certified.” Arthur Leite of Aware Bear
Computers.

AWARE BEAR COMPUTERS ROCHESTER NY AWAREBEAR IS #1 IN ROCHESTER NY

The new Mac mini is out, the waiting for the new computers are over.
Says Andre Leite Alves owner of Aware Bear Computers in Rochester NY.
The last Mac Mini series was released 17 months ago, no major changes
were done to the case however the major advantage over the previous
version is a faster processor and more memory. According to tests
conducted by AwareBear the overall performance increased 20 to 25 %
when compared to the older model.
The two current Mac mini configurations come outfitted with 2GHz Intel
Core 2 Duo processors and either 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive for
$599, or 2GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive for $799. The new Mac mini
now has a 1,066MHz system bus, as well as 1,066MHz DDR3 memory, up from
the 667MHz bus and DDR2 RAM in the previous Mac mini. The new systems support
up to 4GB of RAM; the previous Mac mini only officially supported 2GB,
though some folks reported getting the older Mac mini to recognize up
to 3GB. The new Mac mini has 3MB of shared L2 cache. According to Vinny
P from the Aware Bear Greece NY location.
Mac is no longer using the Intel GMA 950 chip set with integrated
graphics, the new chipset adopted by Mac is the Nvidia Ge Force 9400M
integrated chipset. Depending on the RAM installed the video memory is
128MB when using 1GB or RAM and 256MB when 2GB of RAM is installed. The
previous model only supported 64MB of shared video memory. Added Mike
Allen from Aware Bear.
Many of the newer software require a minimum of 2GB of RAM making a
good idea to upgrade the entry level MAC Mini to 2GB of RAM. Programs
such as Adobe Suite CS4 run a lot better with the extra RAM and also
the extra 256MB of video memory. The extra 128MB of video memory makes
the program run about 15% faster.
The Nvidia graphics has better reviews than the previous Intel.
The older Mac mini couldn’t even run our Call of Duty test, and
struggled to get just 5 frames per second in our Quake 4 test. The new
Mac minis, with 2GB of RAM installed, were able to push through nearly
7 times as many frames per second in that test.
When upgraded to 2GB of RAM both Macs have similar specs when it comes
down to processor, memory and video memory. The only difference is the
larger hard drive on the more expensive machine.
The break down of our review:
The new Mac mini was 21 percent faster overall than the previous
model. The 3D performance is a lot higher since Mac upgraded to the
Nvidia chip.
A gain of 23% was possible by upgrading the processor to a 2.0Ghz.
The new Macs are still being tested by our staff, so far we gave them 5
out 5 stars. Says Arthur Leite from Aware Bear Computers in Rochester
NY.
